The Massachusetts Clubhouse Coalition (MCC) celebrated the employment success of Massachusetts residents who have serious and persistent mental illness and of the companies who employed them earlier this week at the State House. Staff members from both Crossroads Clubhouse in Hopedale and Tradewinds Clubhouse in Southbridge were in attendance and honored Liberty Tax of Milford and Harrington Hospital of Southbridge, respectively.
What does safe health care mean to you? At some point in our lives, we will all be patients receiving medical care and services in a variety of health care settings. But receiving safe health care, whether for yourself or a loved one, is not a commodity or a guarantee. Each year medical errors and hospital acquired infections cause death or injury to over one million people! Medical error has countless causes, infinite costs, and ever-evolving solutions. If Massachusetts is to contain rising health care costs without harming quality of care, we must all remain committed to patient safety!
