Who's representing senior citizens?
By Sen. Richard T. Moore
Over the past month or so, whether it was in an email from a frustrated Bellingham senior, a coffee shop conversation with two hard-pressed Douglas seniors, a visit to my town hall office hours by a concerned Uxbridge senior citizen, or poignant questions from those at the Webster Senior Center, I've heard a common refrain. Who is looking out for the interests of senior citizens?

Moore, Senate
approves safe
driving legislation
Bans
texting; establishes
safe guidelines for
seniors
March
3, 2010 ... Sen.
Richard T. Moore,
D-Uxbridge, joined
his colleagues in
the Senate on
Tuesday, in passing
safe driving
legislation that
bans texting while
driving and makes it
a primary offense.
While police
officers will be
able to pull persons
over specifically
for texting, Sen.
Moore voted against
making cell phone
calls a primary
offense, along with
a requirement for
motorists to use
“hands free”
technology.
Moore’s colleagues
joined and
ultimately rejected
those proposals from
the final
legislation.
