Sen. Moore supports improved benefits legislation for Veterans and Servicemembers

6, 2009 ... The Senate on Thursday approved legislation to enhance and protect benefits of Massachusetts’ veterans and
servicemembers.
“Veterans of the Commonwealth and beyond represent the ultimate sacrifice an individual can give in the name of defending our country,” said Sen.
Richard T. Moore, D-Uxbridge. “This legislation goes a long way in giving back to our servicemembers who deserve a high quality of life for their commitment and valor.”

Sen. Moore announces free legal advice by phone for
local veterans on Oct. 15

... Recently, Sen. Richard T. Moore, D-Uxbridge, announced that the Massachusetts Bar Association (MBA) will be hosting its annual Dial-A-Lawyer programming on Thursday, October 15. The program is dedicated solely to veterans’ legal questions and is part of the MBA’s “Serving Our Veterans in the Law” initiative. The program will take place via telephone from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Veterans on Memorial Day 2009
May 26, 2009 ... Maintaining a busy
weekend schedule honoring Memorial Day, Sen. Richard T. Moore,
D-Uxbridge, marched with the Blackstone Memorial Day Parade on
Sunday, May 24, 2009. Later in the day, he was the principal
speaker at the World War II Veterans Memorial in Douglas. Prior to
the Blackstone Parade, Sen. Moore attended the Rededication
Ceremony for the Jewish War Veterans Memorial on Pine Street in
Milford.

hears about National Guard "heroes"

"Greg" Smith told those attending last Sunday's 45th
Annual Polish-American Veterans’ Communion Breakfast that
today's Massachusetts National Guard is a modern fighting force
filled with ordinary citizens who do some truly extraordinary
things. Smith, who has been nominated by the President to become a
Brigadier General in the National Guard, told the audience about
some of the men and women who have become "heroes" in
his eyes by going beyond what might have been expected of
"citizen soldiers."
