Moore informs constituents of seasonal state employment opportunities |
|
BOSTON, February 28, 2005 - Senator Richard T. Moore would like to inform constituents of seasonal employment opportunities through the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR). Seasonal employees are needed to assist in the operation of state parks and recreation areas across the Commonwealth. The Seasonal Training and Employment Program (S.T.E.P.) aims to deliver the highest quality services to visiting public by recruiting and retaining qualified and motivated seasonal staff that reflect the racial and cultural diversity of customers and the Commonwealth. A key component of S.T.E.P. is that it provides a positive work experience for youth, as well as educational opportunities and training for students who are interested in environmental or recreational services. As the DCR begins the process of hiring seasonal employees, they look to community-based organizations to help meet their strategies and operational goals of promoting a positive image and delivering exceptional customer service. DCR believes the best way to accomplish this is to staff facilities with individuals from the communities that they serve. To help expedite S.T.E.P., the Governor’s Office of Human Resources will facilitate the seasonal hiring process for the Department of Conservation and Recreation by referring applicants for vacant potions. The seasonal positions for summer workers and laborers will be available at the state’s swimming pools, campgrounds, recreational and picnic/swimming areas. To receive a new application form or for additional information, constituents can contact the Senator Moore’s office at 617-722-1420. Job descriptions and minimum requirements can be found on the DCR website at http://www.state.ma.us/dcr/. Forms must be completed in their entirety and applicants must meet the minimum qualifications. Completed forms must be submitted by April 29th. |
