February 17, 2006 - Senator Richard T. Moore (D-Uxbridge) recently met staff and advocates from the Worcester Community Action Council (WCAC) Webster Head Start and the Community Partnerships for Children in Oxford and Webster during the Early Education and Care and School Age Programs Advocacy Day. The group was among the many that visited the State House lobbying for state funding to build strong early education programs, the staff needed to run them, and a move toward universal preschool programs. Head Start is a preschool program that provides services to low-income families. The WCAC Head Start provides services to families throughout Southern Worcester County. Head Start programs across the state have been supporting families and educating children for 40 years. |
