| Senator Moore encourages constituents to participate in the State House Holiday Card Contest |

BOSTON – Senator Richard T. Moore (D-Uxbridge) encourages constituents to participate in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts 10th Annual Senior Citizens Artistic Interpretation of the State House Holiday Card Contest. This event is sponsored by Secretary William Francis Galvin’s office. “This contest provides a wonderful opportunity for our district residents to stand out and showcase their talents,” said Senator Moore. “Individuals should take advantage of this occasion and send in an entry.” This year’s theme is “Celebrating the Winter Holiday at the State House in Your Favorite Era.” All entries are welcomed from amateur and professional artists and will be exhibited at the Commonwealth Museum in August. Any form of art is acceptable, such as oil, water color, ink, pastels, etc. The size requirements are a minimum of 5” x 7” up to 18” x 24”. All entries must be submitted by July 14, 2006 to the Commonwealth Museum at Columbia Point, attention of Dolores McCray, 220 Morrissey Boulevard, Boston, MA 02125. Please print your name, address, and telephone number on the back of your artwork. The winner of the card contest will have their artwork reproduced and sold at the State House Gift Cart. The winning artist will be notified in August 2006. In the past, Christine O’Brien a native resident of Southbridge, Massachusetts has won the contest three times.
