Moore, Parente acquire essential hospital funds Milford Regional Medical Center receives $200,000 |

September 18, 2006, Boston...During budget debates this year, through the efforts of Senator Richard T. Moore (D-Uxbridge) and Representative Marie J. Parente (D-Milford), the Milford Regional Medical Center will receive $200,000 in funding through the Essential Community Provider Trust Fund. “Yet again, working cooperatively with Representative Parente, we were able to secure funding for Milford Regional Medical Center in this year’s supplemental budget,” said Senator Moore. “This money is critical for the hospital to continue providing quality service to all residents in the area.” "I am sure that with the added responsibility faced by the staff, the hospital can put this additional funding to good use,” said Representative Parente. Acute care hospitals will receive $28.8 million of the $38 million in competitive grants to hospitals and community health centers across the state. In addition to the financial health of the institutions, being the sole providers within the community were key factors in determining who received awards and what amount was given. "I'd like to thank Senator Moore and Representative Parente for their efforts in securing $200,000 in funding from the Community Essential Provider Fund for Milford Regional,” said Frank Saba, President and CEO of the Milford Regional Medical Center. “As we continue to grow our services and programs to meet the needs of our service area, such additional funding is crucial to their development.
