Helen Murray, Member; Richard (Dick) Ryan, Curator of Museum; Carolyn Powers, Vice Chairperson; Senator Moore.

October 18, 2006...Senator Richard T. Moore (D-Uxbridge) visited the Blackstone Historical Museum on October 1, 2006 as part of the annual Blackstone Valley Heritage Homecoming Celebration.

The Blackstone Historical Commission held an open house at the museum on 23 Main Street in conjunction with the celebration. Held over two consecutive weekends in the fall, Heritage Homecoming celebrates the historic Blackstone River Valley communities and features specially designated tourism and cultural events. Senator Moore was a catalyst for the formation of Heritage Homecoming in the mid-1980s and is currently the Honorary Chairman.

Historical artifacts from the town of Blackstone are on display in the museum. The museum boasts artifacts including antique cast iron stove, a pump organ, vintage 1930's wedding gowns, and many books displaying pictures and stories about Blackstone and its residents.

Home-baked goodies and hot coffee are always available when the Museum is opened.
