February 20, 2007...Sen. Richard T. Moore, D-Uxbridge, as co-chair of the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) Task Force on Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness, met recently with Admiral Thad Allen, Commandant of the U. S. Coast Guard. Joining Sen. Moore and Admiral Allen are Tony Beard, Security Director for the California State Senate, and former New York State Senator Michael Balboni who was recently appointed as Homeland Security Director for the State of New York. Moore, a former Associate Director of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, has co-chaired this key NCSL Task Force for the past four years.
