June 20, 2007... Sen. Richard T. Moore, D-Uxbridge recently welcomed Milford resident Arlene Surette, her daughter Jenna Roberts and son Richard Roberts to the State House. Jenna, a fourth grader, won an honorable mention in the Massachusetts League of Women Voters Essay Contest. The annual contest is open to all Massachusetts students in grades 4-12. This year’s theme was "Making Democracy Work: Citizen's Rights and Responsibilities." Winners received US Savings Bonds and were invited to read their essays at historic Faneuil Hall in Boston during an awards ceremony. Senator Moore awarded Jenna with a Senate Citation in recognition of her achievement. |
