Milford residents awarded the Heritage Day of Portugal Medallion at the State House July 2, 2007...Sen. Richard T. Moore, D-Uxbridge and Rep. John Fernandes, D-Milford welcomed Maria Valenca and Domenic Afonso both of Milford to the State House for the 23rd Annual Heritage Day of Portugal. During the ceremony, Valenca and Afonso were presented the Heritage Day of Portugal Medallion. The Medallion is given to individuals of Portuguese-speaking heritage who have excelled in their lives or those who, regardless of their ethnicity, have contributed to the advancement of the Portuguese cause. Senator Moore also presented Valenca and Afonso with Senate Citations. Rep. Fernandes served as this year’s Master of Ceremonies. |
