Statement from Department of Revenue on taxpayers affected by Bernat Mill Complex
Fire
July 27, 2007...In response to Sen. Richard T. Moore's, D-Uxbridge, request for a resolve for the taxpayers affected by the Bernat Mill Complex Fire on July 21, 2007, Henry Dormitzer, Commissioner of the Department of Revenue issued a statement today. "It would be a shame to see these employers, displaced by such a devastating fire, penalized for not knowing to continue filing their appropriate receipts," said Moore. "Considering that many of these employers are coping with the loss of their livelihood, it is certainly understandable to assume their regular filings are not at the forefront of their concern." The statement released by the Department clarifies that employers should still continue their routine filing despite the tragedy. Sen. Moore has established a special section on his website at www.senatormoore.com/uxbridge for citizens to visit and obtain relevant information.
