Blackstone Valley Chamber of Commerce receives $25,000 grant

October 5, 2007...The Blackstone Valley Chamber of Commerce has been awarded a $25,000 Technical Assistance grant under the Executive Office of Housing and Economic Development’s (EOHED) Office of Small Business and Entrepreneurship’s FY 2008 grant program, according to Sen. Richard T. Moore, D-Uxbridge.

"With a revitalized Blackstone Valley Chamber of Commerce helping area communities to develop a coordinated approach to economic development, I am pleased that the state's Executive Office of Housing and Economic Development has provided vitally important resources to this effort,” said Moore. “As Valley towns and their residents prepare for growth than continues in our region, the chamber can play a critical role in helping to promote new and expanded businesses that add to the local revenue support while adding good jobs in the Valley."

The Small Business Technical Assistance Grant Program is part of a state-wide effort established in the 2006 economic stimulus bill to stimulate and support entrepreneurial business growth in Massachusetts. The program is designed to help small businesses gain access to loans from the private banking community in Massachusetts, as well as to attain, maintain and grow their financial viability. Sen. Moore and Rep. Jennifer Callahan, D- both advocated for the grant with EOHED.
