Patrick Administration moves on I-495 Resurfacing project through Milford

November 20, 2007...Sen. Richard T. Moore, D-Uxbridge, and state officials today announced that $7.24 million project to reconstruct and resurface an 11-mile segment of I-495 southbound between the Marlborough/ Southborough Town Line and the Route 85 interchange in Milford has been approved.

In addition to upgrading the mainline of the highway, the project will also rehabilitate and resurface Exits 23 and 21. Exit 22 will be partially resurfaced up to the point where it becomes Massachusetts Turnpike Authority jurisdiction. The construction contract also calls for drainage and catch basin work, bridge deck rehabilitation, and the installation of new guardrail.

"It is critical that the Commonwealth is proactive with our high traffic roads and address any concerns before they materialize into larger and more costly public safety issues," said Senator Richard T. Moore. "I am pleased that the Administration has recognized this and is moving forward with these improvements."
