“Pathways to Procurement” training for Norfolk County businesses

November 26, 2007... Sen. Richard T. Moore, D-Uxbridge, would like to make area business owners aware that on January 18th from 9:30am – 1:30pm, the Operational Services Division (OSD), the Commonwealth’s central procurement office, will be offering free training to Norfolk County businesses interested in learning more about the state’s procurement process.

“This event is a wonderful opportunity for local businesses, large and small, to learn about the potential to become a state contractor,” said Moore. “I’d encourage anyone interested to attend the “Pathways to Procurement” event and take advantage of the valuable programming available.”

The training, taking place at the Massasoit Community College in Canton, will include an overview of the procurement process, understanding contract forms, the Affirmative Marketing Program for minority and women owned business enterprises, and Comm-PASS, the Commonwealth’s e-procurement system and marketing strategies.

Companies can register online for the event by sending an e-mail with the company name, attendee name, e-mail address and telephone number to OSDOutreach@osd.state.ma.us. For more information, log onto www.comm-pass.com
