Northbridge Housing Authority receives $116,015 in state funds

January 2, 2008 ... The Northbridge Housing Authority has been awarded $116,015 in emergency capital improvement bond funding from the Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) according to Sen. Richard T. Moore, D-Uxbridge and Rep. George N. Peterson, R-Grafton. The funding award is to reimburse the housing authority’s own capital reserve funds for the cost of emergency replacement of the gas lines at their 667-1 Lake Terrace development.

“This crucial funding will go a long way as we strive to preserve our housing infrastructure in the Commonwealth,” said Moore. “This grant is a wonderful demonstration of the state’s commitment to helping Northbridge maintain their commitment to provide a suitable living environment and improve the lives for low and moderate income residents.”

Rep. George N. Peterson, Jr. continued to praise the Department of Housing and Community Development.

“I want to thank DHCD for providing this funding," Peterson said. "There was a critical need for the funding at the Lake Terrace apartments, and now the project will be able to move forward."
