Suggest education reforms, win $10,000
January 15, 2008 ... Sen. Richard T. Moore, D-Uxbridge, has announced a unique and exciting opportunity for constituents to get involved in improving the current way the education system works in Massachusetts. The Pioneer Institute, a non-profit research group, is sponsoring their 17th Annual Better Government Competition, which seeks ideas from individuals about ways to improve the quality and performance of K-12 education. “Citizens should take an active role in making our schools the best they can be,” said Moore. “This competition is a great opportunity for individuals to make suggestions on how to improve our education system. Sharing ideas on how to improve and strengthen our education system is very useful and when working together, we can absolutely inspire change.” This year, submitters to the Better Government Competition are asked to draft policy ideas that hold out realistic promise or have already delivered measurable benefits to K-12 students, including:
The grand prize winner will receive $10,000; runners-up will receive $1,000 each for their proposals. Proposals must be received by Monday, April 7, 2008, 4:30 pm.
