Biotech grants for high schools touted

Sen. Moore to hold office hours in Milford
February 20, 2008 ... Sen. Richard T. Moore, D-Uxbridge, will hold office hours on Thursday, February 28th, 2008 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Milford Town Hall, 52 Main Street.
Sen. Moore holds monthly office hours in
area towns to meet individually with constituents who need assistance
with matters involving the state government. No appointment is necessary
and residents are met individually on a first-come, first served basis.

The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) has awarded $945,706 million in FY2008 towards climate change, sustainability, and pollution prevention grants to 161 towns, cities, and regional organizations, including many in the Worcester & Norfolk District, according to Sen. Moore receives hospital acquired infection award

13, 2008 ... During Wednesday’s Public Health Council meeting, the Council recognized Sen. Richard T. Moore, D-Uxbridge, for his bold and effective leadership in reducing hospital acquired infections (HAI).
According to the Department of Public Health (DPH), HAIs are developed by 2 million patients nationwide, which results in 90,000 deaths.

| Not all eligible families applying for fuel assistance

February 7, 2008 … Local families could be missing out on the chance to get help paying heating and utility bills, according to a Massachusetts organization that helps with energy costs.
Officials with Energy Bucks, an umbrella organization providing fuel assistance, discounts on electricity and natural gas, and energy-efficient products, say only half of the 800,000 households that qualify for some form of assistance take advantage of the help.
