Moore announces grant funding for Webster
April 14, 2008 ... The Town of Webster has been awarded $586,200 from the FY08 Housing Development Support Program from the Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) according to Sen. Richard T. Moore, D-Uxbridge. The funding is from the federal government but is administered by DHCD and will be used to assist with the 6 unit, 60 Lake Street Affordable Housing Project. The Housing Development Support Program is a component of the state Community Development Block Grant Program. “This crucial funding will go a long way as we strive to preserve our housing infrastructure in the Commonwealth,” said Moore. “This grant is a wonderful demonstration of the state’s commitment to helping Webster maintain their commitment to provide a suitable living environment and improve the lives for low and moderate income residents.” |
