Sen. Moore meets with soon to be Israeli Prime Minister Tzipi Livni September 30, 2008...Sen. Richard T. Moore, D-Uxbridge, met recently with then-Israeli Foreign Minister and Acting Prime Minister Tzipi Livni when she visited the Massachusetts State House. Livni was recently chosen as leader of the Kadima Party and is in line to become the next Prime Minister of Israel following the resignation of Ehud Olmert. She has been the chief negotiator with the Palestinians in trying to find a peaceful settlement of the long standing territorial dispute. Considered the most powerful woman in Israel since Prime Minister Golda Meir in the 1970's, Livni, 49, is a former Israeli intelligence agent. Sen. Moore is Vice President of the National Conference of State Legislatures. |
