Sen. Moore Raises Awareness of MassMedLine Services

Sen. Moore with Mary Sullivan

February 11, 2008...Sen. Richard T. Moore, D-Uxbridge, poses in the State House with Mary Sullivan, Director of MassMedLine—a program operated by the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, which offers services for any Massachusetts resident seeking information on their prescription medications, or cost-saving plans that can immediately assist in saving hundreds of dollars for individuals. Sen. Moore, who is Senate Chairman of the Health Care Financing Committee, and who also played a key role in creating MassMedLine, opened the briefing for State Legislators and their staff on MassMedLine’s services.

Part of the presentation highlighted MassMedLine’s policy that every person will get a live individual on the other line, so that they may help in educating and counseling patients about their medications; inform patients about available insurance plans and private, state and federal programs that provide free, low cost or discounted medications (including the Medicare Drug Benefit and various patient assistance programs sponsored by members of the pharmaceutical industry); and evaluating patients for eligibility of appropriate programs.

For more information on MassMedLine’s valuable services, please visit their website at www.massmedline.com, or call them at 1-866-633-1617.
