A misguided stimulus plan
Boston Globe Editorial
June 25, 2010 ... One of the smartest steps Massachusetts has taken to get health costs under control was the 2008 ban on the gifts and free dinners showered on doctors by pharmaceutical companies eager to market
pricey new medications. Now a bill pending in the state House of Representatives would repeal that ban — as well as a requirement that drug companies disclose payments they make to doctors for research or other services. Representatives should strike these provisions from an 86-page economic-development package that was unveiled yesterday.

A Health Policy That Must Be Worth Its Salt
By Senator Richard T. Moore
