Marie Ryan honored by Senator Moore
February 27, 2012 ... Sen. Richard T. Moore, D-Uxbridge, joined with parishioners at St. Paul’s Church in Blackstone recently to honor Marie Ryan with a citation from the Massachusetts Senate commending the Mount St. Charles senior on receiving the St. Timothy Award. Ms. Ryan, daughter of Atty. and Mrs. William Ryan of Blackstone, is scheduled to receive the prestigious national award from Bishop Thomas Tobin of Providence on March 11.
The award is given to an outstanding high school junior or senior who work zealously to improve their parish ministry programs, high school ministry teams, or youth ministry within the Diocese. Recipients must exemplify the qualities of moral integrity, prayer, good works, and Christian leadership.

State Senate passes emergency response bill

February 22, 2012 ... While most students were enjoying a weeklong vacation, Dudley Middle School student, Hunter D. F. Haynes, visited the Massachusetts State to further his interest and knowledge of government and politics. Hunter, a sixth grader, was the guest of Sen. Richard T. Moore, D-Uxbridge, who represents Dudley in the Massachusetts Senate.

“Michael’s Law” gains senate approval
February 21, 2012 ... A bill, popularly known as “Michael’s Law,” requiring all public and private schools in Massachusetts to have a medical emergency response plan, unanimously passed the Massachusetts Senate last week. Sen. Richard T. Moore, D-Uxbridge, shepherded the bill through the Senate following favorable action by the Legislature’s Committee on Education and the Committee on Health Care Financing.

Sen. Moore celebrates Valentine’s Day by advancing medical emergency response bill
February 14, 2012 ... The Massachusetts Senate sent a Valentine’s Day message to students throughout the Commonwealth by accepting legislation authored by Sen. Richard T. Moore, D-Uxbridge, and giving the bill initial approval. The bill requires schools to develop medical emergency response plans and promotes the use of
automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in schools and on athletic fields.

Southern Worcester County hospitals receive e-Health grants

February 13, 2012 ... Grants totaling over one million dollars have been awarded to two Southern Worcester County hospitals to promote the use of electronic health records; Harrington Hospital in Southbridge was granted $599,476 and Milford Regional Medical Center received $496,552.

Fattman honor Sutton champions at the State House

2012 ... Sen. Richard T. Moore, D-Uxbridge, and Rep. Ryan Fattman, R-Sutton, recently honored the Sutton boy’s varsity soccer team at the State House with a luncheon, presentation to the Senate, and tour of the State House.
Under the leadership of Coach Mike Elster, the 2011 Sutton “Sammies” varsity soccer team captured the 2011 Massachusetts Division III state championship after an exhilarating 3-1 win over Georgetown High this past November. The “Sammies” ended their season with a final record of 21 wins, 1 loss, and 1 tie.

Fruit and Deli at 261 Main Street in Oxford for his efforts to promote
healthy foods. Moore
presented the management with a Senate citation commending the business
for encouraging healthy eating. Isador’s
was created in 2006 to build a new relationship with local farmers and
artisan food producers – one which recognizes the essential nature of
great food. “We believe the greatest recipe must start with simple,
fresh and unfettered ingredients,” explained Szostakowski.

Blackstone World War II veteran honored
