Moore announces passage of balanced FY13 state budget
Spending plan promotes local services, workforce training and public safety
June 29, 2012 ... Sen. Richard T. Moore, D-Uxbridge, joined his legislative colleagues in enacting a $32.5 billion state budget for fiscal year 2013 (FY13). The spending plan prioritizes funding for cities and towns and commitments to reform and job creation. The budget does not contain any new taxes and uses a combination of ongoing revenue initiatives, one-time resources and spending reductions to close a $1.4 billion budget gap, the smallest budget gap the state has had since FY08.

Sen. Moore details vision for the Blackstone Valley
June 29, 2012 ... Armed with a comprehensive outline of priorities encompassing economic prosperity, preservation of open space, and transportation and infrastructure needs, Sen. Richard T. Moore, D-Uxbridge, delivered his vision for the Blackstone Valley during a public forum at Blackstone Valley Regional Vocational Technical High School on Tuesday evening. The event was held in conjunction with a partnership project through which the Blackstone Valley Chamber of Commerce, Central Massachusetts Regional Planning Commission and the Blackstone Valley National Heritage Corridor Commission are developing a plan for regional growth and creating a map designating priority areas in the Blackstone Valley for development and preservation.

Moore announces early distributions for school project rebates
June 29, 2012 ... Four local school districts will receive early reimbursements for school building projects funded with the use of state dollars, according to Sen. Richard T. Moore, D-Uxbridge. Hopedale, Uxbridge, Mendon-Upton Regional, and Bellingham School Districts will each receive the accelerated payment as part of a project funding agreement with the Massachusetts School Building Authority
(MSBA), the state’s school building funding steward.

June 26, 2012 ... Timothy J. Harvey was recently promoted to the rank of Captain in the United States Marine Corps during a ceremony at Twenty-Nine Palms Marine Air Ground Combat Center in California. A native of Blackstone, Massachusetts, Lt. Harvey was deployed to Afghanistan in 2010 – 2011.

Senators Richard Moore and Michael Moore vote against MBTA bailout
June 21, 2012 ... With the Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority
(MBTA) facing another substantial budget deficit, this time in the amount of $159 million to cover expenses for Fiscal Year 2013, legislation to cover $51 million of the debt passed the Senate on Tuesday by a vote of 26-9 despite a bipartisan effort against the measure, including Senators Richard T. Moore, D-Uxbridge, and Michael O. Moore, D-Millbury. Changes have already been approved by the MBTA Board for a 23% fare increase and service cuts across the board to account for two-thirds of the debt.

from their summer vacation, Brownies from Girl Scout Troop 30356 in
Northbridge ventured into Boston to learn more about the history of
Massachusetts and how state government operates. While on their trip,
the group stopped by the State House to take a tour of the capitol
building and visit with Sen. Richard T. Moore, D-Uxbridge, who showed
the 14 young ladies and their chaperones, head leader Michelle Brusso,
co-leader Kathy Morrissey, co-leader Danielle Kramer, and parent Lisa
Ells, around the Senate Chamber. During the tour, the group ran into
Gov. Deval Patrick to whom Sen. Moore introduced the girls.
